The central government has issued notices to social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, warning them of failing to comply with the privacy rule, which will take effect on May 26.

Corona tests can now be done at home, ICMR approves kit called 'Koviself' for rapid antigen test

The ICMR has approved a rapid antigen test kit for corona testing at home.  

With this kit called Covyself, people will be able to check for infection by taking a sample through the nose.

The app has to be downloaded in the mobile

According to a statement issued by ICMR, home testing is for symptomatic patients only or those who have been in direct contact with a confirmed case in the lab. 

The home testing kit will be done manually as stated by the company that made it.  For that you have to download the app from Google Play Store and Apple Store.  Positive and negative reports will be available through the mobile app.

Positive or negative report will be received through mobile app.  Those who will do the testing will have to take a test strip photo and take a picture from the phone on which the mobile app will be downloaded.  Mobile phone data will be stored directly on ICMR's testing portal.  But the patient's privacy will remain the same.  Anyone who reports positively through this test will be considered positive.  No other test will be required.

The test can be done in this way

◾People will have to take a nasal swab through this kit.

◾People doing home testing will have to take a photo of the strip.  

◾This photo has to be taken from the phone on which the mobile app has been downloaded.

◾Mobile phone data will be stored directly on ICMR's testing portal.

◾Those who report positive with this test will be considered infected, they will not need any other test.

◾Those who are positive will have to follow the guidelines of the ICMR and the Ministry of Health regarding isolation.

◾Patients with symptoms that have a negative result will have to undergo an RT-PCR test.

◾All repeat antigen negative symptomatic people will be considered suspicious covid case.

◾Such people will have to stay in home isolation until the RT-PCR test report is received.

◾The patient's privacy will remain the same throughout this process.

Important decision regarding CBSE Std. 12 board examination

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Std-12 examination may be held soon.  After the meeting, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank gave information on social media

 "I am confident that we will be in a position to take a decision on the standard 12 examination soon," he said.  We will soon remove the uncertainty of the students and the concerned stakeholders about the right decision in this regard.  He reiterated that the safety and future of students and teachers is of paramount importance to us.

CBSE has 2 options for taking the exam

 1. Option 1: 

➡ Examination of Major Subject should be conducted only at designated centers.  

➡ Numbers can also be given in minor subjects based on the numbers of this examination. 

➡ Under this option, 1 month for pre-exam, 2 months for declaring exam and result and 45 days for compartment exam will be seen.

➡ This means that this option can be adopted when the CBSE board has a 3 month window.

2. Second option: 

➡ In the second option, it is suggested to set a time of one and a half hours (90 minutes) for the examination of all the subjects.  

➡ It is also advisable to ask only objective or short questions in the paper.  

➡ Under this, the exam can be held in 45 days only.

The meeting will be held again on June 1

 Consider conducting examinations in only 3 subjects In the midst of the second wave of Corona epidemic, CBSE is considering taking examinations in major subjects in Std-12 i.e. Major Subjects.  Other subjects may also have a marking formula based on the numbers obtained on the main subjects.

Until then it has been said that students who cannot take the exam due to corona should get one more chance.  The government had postponed the standard 12 board exam following the second wave of corona.

Demand to cancel the exam

 The Union Ministry of Education has convened a big meeting today on social media to demand cancellation of the exam.  In addition to the CBSE-ICSE 12 board exam, other exams including NEET and JEE Mains can also be decided.

The CBSE Board has the option to study 176 subjects for standard 12 students. There are about 20 subjects for which exams can be taken.  These include physics, chemistry, mathematics, biology, history, political science, business studies, accounts, geography, economics, and English.
