Hurricane Yas: Rain continues for 24 hours in 21 districts of Jharkhand


Many trees and power poles collapsed due to strong winds in Jamshedpur and Dhanbad.  This has led to darkness in 200 villages.

At this time the wind speed was 60 kilometers per hour.  It has been raining for 24 hours in 21 districts of Jharkhand, including Ranchi, due to the cyclone.

The weather department IMD has warned of heavy rains across the state till May 28.  

The hurricane weakened as it reached southern Jharkhand at 5.30 am on Thursday and has started shifting into a deep depression.  From here the storm is moving north.  It will gradually weaken

The hurricane will reach Patna by 5.30 pm on Thursday.  160 mm of rain is expected in Patna and 255 mm in other areas.  

During this time winds can move at speeds of 40 to 55 kilometers per hour.  According to IMD, mercury will drop in Bihar from Thursday night.  Day and night temperatures can drop by up to 13 degrees from 28.  The maximum temperature on Thursday is expected to be 29 degrees and the minimum 23 degrees.

Bolero carrying Jaan in Jharkhand was swept away


Dhanbad received 15 mm of rain till late Wednesday night.  The Dhardhari river in Tupu Hesla village of Latehar district received a sudden downpour on Wednesday evening.  Meanwhile, the Bolero, which was full of janitors crossing the river, was flooded.  The driver, along with the killers, jumped out of the vehicle and saved his life.

Affected more than 20 lakh people in Bengal and Odisha

 The hurricane affected more than two million people in Bengal and Odisha.  The wind was blowing here on Wednesday at a speed of 130-145 km per hour.  

4 people died here due to rains and houses collapsing.  There are 3 from Odisha and one from Bengal.

Along with Jaleshwar, Basta and Soroni in Balasore district, heavy rains and floods have also affected many areas in Bhadrak and Kendrapada districts.  It may take 3 to 6 days to repair the power supply in these areas.
