Big decision of the state government, mass promotion to students on the basis of merit

Important decisions are made in the wider interest of students.  The Chief Minister has decided, in the current transition to the global epidemic corona, to protect the young students of the state, with health, defense prices, to award merit-based intermediate semester students for all courses except graduate-level medical-paramedical in the state government and private universities-colleges.

Elaborating on the decision of the core committee chaired by the Chief Minister, Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said that the state government has decided to give this merit-based progress only this year considering the impact of the Covid-19 transition on education work in schools and colleges this year.  He said that the decision of Merit Based Progress taken by the State Government would benefit students of Intermediate Semester 2, 4 and where Semester 6 is also Intermediate for all courses except Medical-Paramedical of Government and Private Universities and Colleges.

The decision benefits 9.50 lakh students in the state

 He added that the total number of such students would be around 9.50 lakh.  Giving a detailed understanding of the method of merit based progress given to intermediate semester students, the Education Minister said that for this purpose, 50 per cent marks will be given on the basis of internal assessment and the remaining 50 per cent marks will be given on the basis of previous previous semester.

How will the assessment be done?

 If the practical examination has not been conducted by the university-colleges, then 50% marks will be calculated on the basis of internal assessment and the remaining 50% marks will be calculated on the basis of the previous previous semester.  In cases where the practical test has been taken, the actual marks obtained in the test will be taken into account, he added.
