Gujarat threatens 'Toukte' hurricane, hurricane could hit Gujarat's coast


The meteorological department forecast that the storm could become active in the Arabian Sea on the 15th

According to the meteorological department, a hurricane named 'Taukte' may hit Gujarat on May 16.  

According to the meteorological department, the first hurricane of the year is likely to hit the coasts of Saurashtra-Kutch and South Gujarat this weekend.  According to the meteorological department, air pressure is likely to rise in the Arabian Sea on May 14.  Which could turn into depression and deep depression on May 15th.

It may become active as a hurricane on May 16.  The meteorological department said rain could also fall along with the hurricane.

However, there is currently no anxiety situation of any kind.  Keep an eye on all conditions.

A possible hurricane in the Arabian Sea is expected to hit Kutch district.  Agencies, including the Coast Guard in Kutch district, have been on high alert since then and boats have been asked to return to shore.

The hurricane is expected to be active in the Arabian Sea on the 15th.  In the next three-four days, Gujarat is likely to hit the coastal areas of Maharashtra and Goa.  Coast Guard personnel have told people fishing in the sea to reach the safe shore.  Kutch in particular has two major ports at Kandla and Mundra.  Along with this, Jakhau port of Naliya is used extensively for fishing.  Then caution becomes inevitable.

Heavy rains are also expected in Goa and Maharashtra

According to the Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is expected over the south-eastern Arabian Sea on Friday morning.  That said, it has the potential to move north-west and faster in the south-east Arabian Sea and the nearby Lakshadweep region.  Due to which, the meteorological department has forecast heavy rains in Lakshadweep, Kerala, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
